It’s Me - Clawrence!!

I am Clawrence. I’m a crab. I live on Bauble Bay Island. We have much fun and everyone welcome. You gonna love it!

Hey! Did you find me on cruise? I wasn’t supposed to be there but I had to come find you. But YOU found ME instead!! If cruise not over yet, you might find LauraBird on the ship. She may have some special things from Clawrence. Be sure you look for her.

Happy sailing! I am so glad you found me! I am very special. I even am a camp direckter. Cool, huh? And my name used to be Larry!!

Velour was enjoying a lovely, peaceful day on the beach at the Secret Swim Spot. The sun was warm, his hat was colorful and the clouds looked like cotton balls in the sky. His rest was abruptly interrupted by the unpleasant feeling of water dripplets hitting his fine feathers. His eyes flew open to see Buzzbee standing before him.


Buzzbee, "I found pet. Buzzbee has pet now."


Velour took in the scene before him. Buzzbee, dripping wet with a small crab attached to his beak. He took a breath and declared that to be ridiculous.

 

"Good grief!"

 

"Him is Larry," Buzzbee declared.

 

"That is a ridiculous name for a pet. And that is a ridiculous pet."

 

Buzzbee appeared to have not heard Velour. He was still gazing with wonder at the tiny crab hooked to his beak.

 

Buzzbee, "Larry."

 

Velour, "No. That is a crab. With claws."

 

Buzzbee very quietly, "You a crab."

 

"Larry is not suitable. Not even remotely dignified," Velour said, ending the matter, at least in his own mind.

 

"Lawrence?"

 

"NO."

 

"CLAWRENCE!"

 

And that, dear friends, is how Larry, uh Clawrence, came to live his best life on Bauble Bay.

Many days later, Buzzbee was still enjoying his new friend. Clawrence was the best pet ever! But Buzzbee kept thinking about what Velour had said.

“Clawrence not a suitable pet. But Clawrence no wear a suit. Maybe he need fancy tuxedo!”
